Hungerford’s Victorian Christmas festivities will kick off at 5pm with a Christmas street fair of stalls, steam engines, festive food and drinks, big wheel and fairground rides and games for the little ones.

There will also be Santa’s Grotto, carriage rides with Dancer & Prancer and a lovely nativity scene and Dress up for the Best Victorian Costume competition

Hungerford Christmas Lights Switch On

Hungerford Christmas Lights are considered by many to be the best in the south of England, adding a sprinkle of fairy dust onto this well-loved market town, and this is a wonderful night to enjoy them.

Hungerford Christmas Lights Parade

The Extravaganza Parade at 7.30pm will feature the Reading Scottish Pipe Band, Rock Choir, Razzamatazz Theatre Group, the Tin Soldier Juggler, Christmas Fairy on stilts, Community of Hungerford Theatre Group, Hungerford Lanterns and lots more.

Due to the popularity of the lanterns, there will again be Lantern-Making Workshops for anyone who would like to carry a lantern in the parade.

The workshop takes place from 1pm – 4pm on Saturday 25 November at The Croft Field Centre, Hungerford RG17 0HY. No booking necessary — just drop in. Cost is £3 donation per lantern for materials.
