Find when all the Christmas lights are being switched on across Gloucestershire in 2023.  Many of the Christmas events combine with a visit a Santa’s grotto, food stalls and lots more fun. If you’re after a magical illuminated trail there are some amazing events happening around Gloucestershire and beyond too.

Gloucestershire Christmas Lights Switch On Dates

Thursday 16th November

• Cheltenham Christmas Launch with with roaming characters and live entertainment and thousands of twinkling Christmas lights will come on throughout the town centre.

Saturday 18th November

• Gloucester Christmas lights switch on and lantern procession
• Bishop’s Cleeve Christmas lights switch on event event will have a stage with free entertainment, open air market, food vendors and activities on The Green including a Father Christmas and Reindeer.
• Stonehouse Christmas lights switch on takes places as part of the Goodwill Fest. Father Christmas will be driven up the High Street in an open-top car to switch on the town lights

Saturday 25th November

• Cheltenham Chrismtas lights switch on at Pitville Pump Rooms

Sunday 19th November

• Tewkesbury Christmas lights switch on event will take over parts of the High Street, Church Street and Barton Street with fairground rides, live performances, activities and Christmas market stalls.

Friday 24th November

• Dursley Christmas lights switch on
• Painswick Christmas lights switch on will take place at the Painswick Goodwill Evening.
• Nailsworth Christmas lights switch on is part of a goodwill evening packed with entertainment, market stalls and Father Christmas in his grotto.

Saturday 25th November

• Moreton-in-the-Marsh Christmas lights switch on is a great day out for all the family with a vast range of market stalls selling many different products. The market opens at 9.30 am with an afternoon of events culminating with switching on the town’s Christmas lights display at 5pm
• Cirencester Christmas lights switch on takes place at the Advent Market.  It brings Christmas celebration to the town including live entertainment and music for all the family.
• Cam Christmas lights switch on event will have a host of exciting activities – including giant street games, festive themed stalls, a traditional Christmas market and even mini reindeer rides!

Friday 1st December

• Tetbury Christmas lights switch on will have food, drink, shopping, carols as Tetbury’s Christmas fair and market is back!
• Stroud will have a night of festivities with a lantern procession, fairground rides and stalls.
• Berkeley Christmas lights switch on
• Charlton Kings Christmas tree lights switch on.

Friday 8th December

• Winchcombe Christmas Festival will see the  town lit up with over 70 real Christmas trees, and street entertainers, Morris dancers, choirs, bands and community groups all add to the merriment.
• Stow on the Wold Christmas Lights switch on event takes place from 4pm to 6:30pm
