There’s witchery afoot as we transform Cogges Manor House is transformed again into The Witch’s House for a Halloween-themed October half-term. See this year’s transformation, inspired by Roald Dahl stories, from 25th October – 4th November. Halloween outfits encouraged!

Tiptoe through spooky rooms decorated as scenes from our favourite childhood stories, and see spooktacular sights and sounds.

Each room has been tranformed with amazing creativity right down to all the little details.  The anticipation starts when you see broomsticks parked against the manor house and you’re welcomed by a friendly witch.  Little ones are given a torch just in case they get spooked (it’s not too scary) as it’s dimly lit inside.

There’s music and sound effects too, my youngest loved The Twits with the occassional parp!

From Fantastic Mr Fox to The Magic Finger and everything in between, we loved exploring each room.  The highlight has to be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  You’ll find his grandparents sleeping in the four posterbed upstairs and downstairs the kitchen has been transformed into a chocolate factory, complete with a chocolate fountain and marshmallows.

Outside you can go on a trail around the grounds, get stuck into Halloween games in the old barns and enjoy your own witch’s brew in Cogges Kitchen Café with tasty Halloween-themed treats. Look out for cooking on the range in the kitchen and children’s crafty activities (times may vary).

• Trail around the farm
• Say hello to the chickens, goats, ducks, ponies and sheep – if you’re lucky, you might even spot the witch’s familiars, the elusive farm cats!
• Head over to the Woodland adventure playground where the kids can enjoy the castle fort and zip wire (weather permitting)
