How To Relax After Having a Rough Day Out While on Holiday

Imagine this scenario; you’ve been invited to go out with some friends that you met while on holiday. They take you out to a nice hiking spot and you walk around on some beautiful trails for most of the day. But you forgot that you’re really not as fit and healthy as you used to be, so the hike is a massive struggle and your feet are hurting the entire time. By the end of the day, your feet are in so much pain that you can barely make it back to your hotel room. Then you wake up the next day and your legs are in pain, your feet hurt, and you really don’t want to do anything.

You might not experience it the exact same way, but there are probably plenty of times that you’ve had a rough day or night while on holiday and you really don’t feel like moving the next day. It can sometimes feel like you’re just wasting your holiday in bed, or you might be tempted to still go out and do something–at the expense of all the pain and suffering you might experience! So what can you do to relax after having a rough day while on holiday?

Make sure you’re wearing the right gear

If you go hiking, make sure you wear a good pair of boots and have the right gear to make it comfortable. Similarly, if you’re going to walk around the city a lot, make absolutely sure you have a good pair of walking shoes! The better your gear, the less likely you’ll experience issues like pain. This is especially important the day after because you don’t want to agitate the pain even further!

Have a nice long soak in the bath

Whether you’ve got a spa at your destination or a really good bathtub in your hotel room, why not have a nice long soak on the same day that you’ve had a rough outing. Consider getting your feet washed or massaged as well if there are services like that around you! This is a fairly common thing in Asian countries and you can get pampered before you head to bed.

However, it’s far more common for people to have their own remedies for when they get back to their accommodation. What a lot of people enjoy doing when they have a rough day is just soaking in their hotel bathtub with some bath salts. If you look at the benefits of a good salt bath you’ll see that it can be a great pain and ache reliever. All you have to do is fill your bathtub with warm water and add your bath salts.

Take it easy the day after

Taking a day off during your holiday and just relaxing isn’t so bad. Don’t do any crazy activities–just chill for a while and do something light. Walk to a nice restaurant for dinner, watch the sights from your hotel room, or meet up with some friends for a drink at a local bar. There are lots of comfortable activities to indulge in!
